Italy has always been recognised abroad as one of the major countries for large ships and especially, yachts. To support and promote this achievement, the first edition of “Versilia Yachting Rendezvous” was launched in May this year. This is an event dedicated to the nautical world and everything that revolves around it. The city of Viareggio (Tuscany), one of the most important naval and open air factories, welcomed it with open arms.

Over the course of its dockyard history, 72 large boats were housed, which gave the event a strong “outdoor” touch. As well as this, 117 companies took part in the initiative, exhibiting and presenting all the latest production developments.

The trade show was divided into 3 different sections: Tender and Toys for technological products and leisure ranges, Superyacht Marina relating to the ports for large ships and finally the Superyacht Equipment and Component for manufacturers of accessories and components.

Among the many exhibitors, there were also the world leaders in yacht manufacture including: the Azimut Benetti Group, the Ferretti Group and Sanlorenzo Yachts who have presented some of their most prestigious models.

For each of the four days of the event, it was decided to develop a dominant theme to offer a complete view of everything in this sector. Therefore the most representative topics that have been selected are: design, gastronomic excellence, art and fashion.

This first edition has seen 18,000 visitors from all over the world to participate in this engaging fair that has since become renowned for its extremely dynamic and international character with a great response from the public. The event’s positive conclusion leaves room for promising future editions over the next few years.
