Caftans, tracksuits and scarves and large beach bags that we saw on the catwalks earlier in the year are all reasons for losing your head with these super articles for the season. This year’s colours: intense coral, ocean blue and forest green, perfect for bright coloured prints and the rich patterns from Swarovski that should be treated as if they were precious jewels, wrapping the whole body and accompanied by chain necklaces to hang around the neck or waist.

Parah

For the summer of 2012 Parah is all colour and femininity. A vast choice of bathing costumes which are all totally appetising. La mia Africa is a collection which offers us with something of the flavour of the dark continent, with ethnic and Safari prints and tones. The Matisse line is an explosion of chromatic drops and luminous ondulation; lively and intense colours which follow the line of the body. La Perla with it’s top-bikini, and one piece swimsuits, open at the sides, pop colours and psychedelic fantasies inspired by the 1970s and the works of art by great artists such as Mondrian or Andy Warhol, while the lines of silk chiffon and pleated couture, call to mind a diva’s holiday on the Cote d’azur or Portofino.

Victoria’s secret, Pin-Up Star, Agogoa and Emamò offer us a journey through time and space with fantasy designs that come from far away: the America of Popeye, the Mexico of Frida Kalho or uncontaminated Amazonia and for the summer of 2012 Christies are inspired by the 1970s, with truly glamorous beachwear and strong monochrome shades. Ritratti Milano have chosen to offer certain “must haves” for the summer based on yellow and gold, rigid gold necklaces and bracelets, exquisite, gleaming ultra-flat sandals and the single shoulder lines. Romantic, elegant, sophisticated and minimalist, the collection offers a magical atmosphere with its transparent and airy fabrics, floral designs, delicate shades and patterns which remind us of cashmere or foulards, and a touch of glamour in the detail of the metalwork. Also from the catwalks, wonderful refined bathing costumes “for the city”, which are perhaps slightly more difficult to wear at the sea, but all highly fashionable with an incredibly strong scenic impact. An example: bikinis adorned with PVC flowers by Blumarine or the 1950s style costumes from Prada and Antonio Marras and the entire gypsy collection by Missoni.

Christies

The sizes and styles suit the most diverse bodies and fit impeccably. Swarovski’s studded Bustiers are also highly attractive, as well as the one piece costumes in printed python skin. Perhaps not a classic animalier, but great fantasy, less aggressive than leopard spots and far more amusing and easy to wear, even for those of us who do not usually go for this type of design.

There are also couture lines for those customers who perhaps set out with the idea of acquiring a beach robe but at the same time need something simple and refined for important evenings. and the greatest beachwear brands do not rest even for the winter which can be seen from the splendid Cruise Collection and the made-to-measure haute couture articles with an avant-garde cut, created for demanding customers who expect only the best.
